Image:Dominopoint Day 2 is over. What a wonderful event

Wow, what an event.
For the second year in a row the italian Lotus Community gathered for the Dominopoint.it event.

It was great, more than 500 registered on the event website (the last one at 8 o'clock of the same morning, you're insane guys). We're looking to have the number of those that really faced up. (We didn't go for a "closed number" registration allowing for somebody to not showup. It was a risk but it worked out very well. Thanks to the huge organizational work of the Dominopoint team).

8.30 gathering and registration began. People flowed in. From Val d'Aosta to Sicily from Veneto to Sardinia we had people getting up early in the morning, taking a plane and flying to milano for this huge party.

As said in a previous post we had two tracks (Development and Admin) with some speakers from last years and new entries at their first experience (Thank you: Marianna Tomasatti, Fabio Pignatti, Cristian d'Aloisio, Vincenzo Capponcelli and Giuseppe Bucciarelli)

9.00 The keynote. Giuseppe Grasso, Daniele Grillo and Claudio Meregalli start the show. A quick history of how Dominopoint.it was born years ago, how it got to be trusted by Partners, Customers and even IBM. Then we moved to "what happened in the lotus space" in the last year with an impressive long list of new things happening. At this point Davide Pannuto IBM Software Lotus Marketing Manager stepped in with a few slides about the "OVERTAKE" Lotus is experiencing over the competition in Italy.

9.30 We begin with a split of the sessions, Developers Vs Admins ( this great video explains very well the "feelings" :) ) and the agenda began to roll, session after session.
Sponsors had their speeches as part of the main tracks illustrating with technical people the usage of their products

13.00 -> 14.00 We got our lunch. The quality of the lunch was superb, thanks to the sponsors for making this possible. We've had the opportunity to meet with users, partners, talk to each other and to know a lot of new people

14.00 A new start for sessions in the agenda towards the "general closing session"

17.40: General closing session

For the closing session we got a double-session on the new stuff coming on Domino 8.5 both from a Developer and Admin standpoint. Giuseppe Grasso and Claudio Meregalli did a superb work showing and telling to the audience.

18.10: Prize drawing (Blackberry offered 2 devices for to be drawn out of the participants feedback)

18.20: Bye bye and.... SEE YOU NEXT YEAR

The authors of Dominopoint.it OFFICIALLY announced that next year we're going to get a better bigger event around October 23.

Well this community seems to be healthier than ever. The products, the speakers, the partners and customers and even IBM have shown a TERRIFIC participation to the event.

More detail will come soon about our sessions and the outcome.

After party considerations.

After the end of the event we (speakers) gathered once again for a good PIZZA & BEER and we got to the point....

The post from Ed Brill last week was terrific, we are thrilled. With this attiture we're confident Lotus is going to kick-ass even more than in the last few years.

Go Ed, go !!!!

Bye guys,
more is coming SOON
